Get your breakfast chocolate fix with this creamy, warm, and healthy Chocolate Almond Butter Oatmeal! This chocolate oatmeal recipe requires cacao, flax meal, maple syrup, rolled oats, water (or oat milk), and almond butter. It’s not only vegan but gluten-free, soy-free, oil-free, and refined sugar-free too!
Ingredients you’ll need for this Chocolate Almond Butter Oatmeal:
- Water or Oatmilk
- Rolled Oats
- Cacao
- Flax meal
- Maple Syrup
- Almond Butter (topping)
- Hemp seeds (topping)
- Dark Chocolate (topping)
How to make this Healthy Breakfast:
Making this delicous vegan oatmeal could not be any simpler. It is an extremely easy breakfast recipe to make if you’re in a rush or even if you’re craving something indulgent.
- Mix in all the ingredients! Place rolled oats, water, ground flaxseed, cacao powder, and maple syrup into a medium saucepan.
- Bring to a boil! Keep stirring to prevent the oatmeal from sticking to the saucepan. I also like to use a spatula!
- Reduce the heat to low and keep stirring for around 5 minutes or until the oatmeal becomes thick. If you’re not a fan of thick oatmeal just add in some more liquid!
- Serve with a generous drizzle of almond butter, dark chocolate (make sure it’s vegan!) and hemp seeds.
How to Store:
This Chocolate Almond Butter Oatmeal will last for up 4 days in an airtight container. You could even make a bigger batch of this recipe, making your mornings easier!

Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups water or oat milk
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1–2 tbsp cacao
- 1 tbsp flax meal
- 1–3 tbsp maple syrup
Toppings
- almond butter
- hemp seeds
- vegan dark chocolate
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a pan.
- Bring to a boil. Stirring frequently to prevent the oatmeal from sticking to the pan.
- Reduce the heat to low and keep stirring for around 5 minutes or until the oatmeal becomes thick.
- Pour oatmeal into a bowl and top with dark chocolate, hemp seeds and a generous drizzle of almond butter.
- Enjoy!
Notes
If you don’t like your oatmeal thick, add more water or oat milk.
