Today I was craving my Aloo Tofu Tikki, and thought what a perfect time to re-shoot this recipe for you! It’s incredibly easy to make and there aren’t any fancy ingredients involved! Let’s get into the recipe shall we..
What you’ll need to make Aloo Tofu Tikki:
- tofu
- potatoes
- onions
- chaat masala
- coriander
- ginger
- garlic
- chilli powder
- cumin powder
- ground cinnamon
- ground turmeric
- cornflour
- nutritional yeast
How to make Aloo Tofu Tikki:
- Boil or steam your potatoes until they’re cooked.
- While your potatoes are cooking- squeeze most of the water out of your tofu, then crumble.
- Once your potatoes are done cooking mash and combine with your tofu.
- Add in all your onions, garlic, ginger, coriander, chilli powder, ground cinnamon, ground turmeric, cumin powder, chaat masala, ground cinnamon, salt nutritional yeast and cornflour.
- With your hands mix everything together.

- Heat oil in a pan and place a few of your tikkis in at a time. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until golden.
- Once cooked, place on some kitchen tissues to absorb some of the excess oil.
How to store:
Keep refrigerated for 2-3 days in an air-tight container.

Ingredients
- 2 medium potatoes
- 200 g tofu
- 1 medium onion (chopped)
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tsp grated garlic
- 1/2 tsp chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp ground turmeric
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp chaat masala
- 1 tsp pink salt
- 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1 1/2 tbsp. cornflour
- 2 tbsp fresh/frozen chopped coriander
- 1 1/2 tbsp oil
Instructions
- Peel two medium potatoes and boil until soft
- Squeeze excess water out of the tofu block.
- Crumble the tofu using your hands or a fork.
- Once the potatoes have slightly cooled, mash them using your hands.
- Add the chopped onions, grated ginger, grated garlic, chilli powder, ground turmeric, ground cumin, chaat masala, pink salt, ground cinnamon, nutritional yeast, cornflour, coriander and mix with your hands until well combined.
- Take a piece of the mixture and form into tikkis.
- Heat the oil over medium heat.
- Carefully place the tikkis into the pan and cook for 4-5 minutes, until crispy.
- Flip the tikkis and cook the other side for 4-5 minutes.
- Once the tikkis are cooked place them on a plate lined with kitchen tissues to absorb all the excess oil.
- Enjoy with green chutney or ketchup!
