Oat and date bars, filled with ground chia + flax seeds 😍.With a drizzle of vegan dark choc (completely optional but highly recommend!) These bars are vegan, gluten free, refined sugar free, oil free…basically they’re whole food plant based heaven! 💕

Ingredients you’ll need for these bars

These whole food plant based bars could not be more simple with the following ingredients: 

  • dates
  • rolled oats
  • maple syrup
  • ground flax seeds
  • ground chia seeds
  • water
  • baking soda



How to make these oat and date bars:

  1. Mix dry ingrediants – oats, ground chia seeds and ground flax seeds. And set aside.
  2. Roughly chop dates.
  3. Add dates and water into a pan and simmer until thick.
  4. Mix in baking soda.
  5. Pour over the dry ingrediants and add maple syrup.
  6. Stir until well combined and pour into a 9×9 baking dish and bake for 30 mins!

You can store them in the fridge for up to 4 days when stored in an air-tight container.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 300 g pitted dates (roughly chopped)
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp ground flaxseeds
  • 2 tbsp ground chia seeds
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 50 g dark vegan chocolate

Instructions

  1. Line a 9×9 baking dish and preheat oven to 180‎°C / 160°C fan .
  2. Combine rolled oats, ground chia seeds and ground flaxseeds in a bowl and set aside.
  3. Add water and chopped dates into a saucepan and simmer for 15 minutes or until mixture starts to become thick.
  4. Take saucepan off the heat and mix in baking soda.
  5. Pour mixture over the dry ingredients.
  6. Add in the maple syrup and stir until everythings well combined.
  7. Pour mixture into baking dish and press until its levelled and even.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Once baked allow to cool completely.
  10. Melt vegan dark chocolate and drizzle over the bars!
