What you’ll need to make Ayurvedic Moon Milk:

  • oat milk – or any non-dairy milk of your choice
  • ground ashwagandha
  • ground cinnamon
  • ground nutmeg
  • ground ginger
  • black pepper
  • maple syrup

What is Moon Milk?

Moon Milk is a calming, warm drink you have before bed. It’s relaxing, and will help you fall asleep in no time. It’s a drink that’s been made with spices, non-dairy milk and a little sweetener (I like to use maple syrup). 

What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is an 3,000 year old ancient holistic teachings, making it one of the oldest in the world. In English, the world Ayurveda translates to ‘the science of life’.


‘ayus’ = ‘life’ 

‘veda’= ‘science’

Description

Ayurvedic Moon Milk – a warm, soothing, creamy moon milk made with turmeric & ashwagandha. I love drinking this to calm my body and mind before I go to bed. Nothing beats sipping this creamy drink while reading a book, or even while catching up with my latest shows.


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups oat milk
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp ground ashwagandha
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • pinch of black pepper
  • 1/2 tbsp maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Heat a small saucepan over medium heat
  2. Add all ingredients in order starting with the oat milk and ending with adding the maple syrup.
  3. Whisk until combined. Once the moon milk starts to bubble, reduce heat to low and simmer for around 10-15 minutes
  4. Froth milk with frothing wand (optional)
  5. Pour into a mug and enjoy!
